The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 75: Ideals Vs Reality

It was a privilege to have Mr. Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, as our October speaker at WIF. In a thought-provoking and hopeful discussion, Mr. Türk tackled pressing global challenges, including peace and security, climate change and its effects on food supply, water resources, and infrastructure, as well as the rapid evolution of digital technologies. He emphasized the critical importance of human rights equity and gender equality in addressing these issues. Seventy-five years after the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the principles of human rights remain vital for developing solutions to today’s most pressing problems.
